Allergy & Safety Information
ALLERGEN POLICY
We do everything we can to keep allergens and gluten-free products separate within the shop and in storage but due to the nature of zero-waste shopping, it is inevitable that nearly all allergens are present. Therefore, we cannot certify 100% no cross-contamination with GLUTEN, SESAME or NUTS.
If you suffer from life threatening allergies, we DO NOT recommend shopping with us. If you or someone you are cooking for has a severe allergy, please contact us on 02392 174 725 or hello@packagefreelarder.uk before your visit.
We take cross-contamination and food hygiene very seriously and our in-house procedures helped us achieve our 5 star hygiene rating!
HYGIENE & FOOD SAFETY
All our product dispensers and jars are filled in our shop in a hygienic environment (all ustensils and containers are thoroughly washed before use).
If you bring your own containers to fill, please ensure they are cleaned and fit for purpose, as we cannot take responsibility after the product has left our dispensers. Containers should be completely dry before refilling as water promotes the growth of bacteria and can also reduce the shelf-life of products.
Unfortunately, products that enter a customer’s container cannot be put back into our dispensers due to the risk of cross-contamination. As a small business we therefore kindly request that you purchase anything you dispense.
For full traceability, where possible, we display our batch numbers, best before dates and ingredients on our products. We advise all our customers to take note of this and transfer the information on to their own containers when refilling.
For cleaning products, we recommend that you only use containers that are suitable for the use (i.e. no milk or soft bottles). We have sticker labels with hazard symbols for the different cleaning products – available on request.
COVID-19
We have a Covid Risk Assessment and we keep the shop to a maximum of 4 customers at any one time.
We kindly ask all our customers to sanitise their hands before they come in and wearing a face covering, unless exempt.
For food safety, refills of food products in jars will be done by a member of staff for customers who don't / can't wear a face covering.
